Do you have a clear idea of what Electronica is?
If someone mentions techno, house music or hip hop music, you probably know immediately what they mean - but most people aren`t quite sure about "Electronica music". It uses electronic instruments, it`s "listening music", but it`s not the kind of thing you would hear at a concert...
That`s the start of a definition perhaps. But you`ll also find similarities with techno, house music, hip-hop, jazz, and also "noise music".
It shares something with many genres. It does not impose restrictions.
This gives complete creative freedom, but this freedom is also a burden as there are no predefined forms...
Recently many Electronica labels have started to be established in Tokyo.
One of them, "FLYREC" is doing interesting things and making interesting sounds.
It has released pieces by artists such as mas, Dill and Hidenobu Ito.
From Flyrec, Kazumasa Hashimoto will soon be touring in Fukuoka, Yamaguchi, and Kitakyushu. He is well worth seeing.
